The main difference lies in the drive assembly. In monoblock pumps (KM type), the impeller is mounted directly onto the extended shaft of the electric motor. This eliminates the need for a coupling and a common baseplate, making the unit much more compact and easier to maintain since shaft alignment is not required.
Due to their reliability and small footprint, monoblock pumps are widely used in heating and cooling systems, industrial water supply, and transfer of technical water. They are also ideal for fire protection systems and agricultural irrigation.
